Single-Serve Iced Tea
What You'll Need
  • 1 teaspoon loose-leaf tea per 8 oz (240 ml) of water
  • Fresh filtered water
  • Mug, teapot, or infuser
Recommended Accessories
  • Brew-in-Mug Tea Infuser – Perfect for a single cup.
  • All-in-One Tea Kettle & Infuser – Ideal for brewing multiple servings.
  • African Wooden Tea Spoon – Measures loose leaf tea beautifully while adding a touch of craftsmanship to your tea ritual.

Step 1: Heat Your Water

Different teas prefer different temperatures. Using water that's too hot can make delicate teas bitter, while cooler water may not fully extract flavor.

Tea Type Water Temperature Steep Time
Black Tea 200–212°F (93–100°C) 3–5 minutes
Rooibos 200–212°F (93–100°C) 4–5 minutes
Herbal Blends 200–212°F (93–100°C) 5–7 minutes
Green Tea 175–180°F (80–82°C) 2–3 minutes

  6. Pour the hot tea directly over the ice.
  7. Stir and enjoy.

Optional: Sweeten while the tea is still hot for best results.

Extra-Strong Flavor Option

For fruit-forward blends:

  • Use 3 teaspoons loose leaf tea
  • Brew in 8 oz water
  • Pour over 8 oz ice

This creates a bolder iced tea that won't taste diluted as the ice melts.

Single-Serve Cold Brew Tea

Makes One 16 oz Glass
  1. Add 2 teaspoons loose leaf tea to your Brew-in-Mug Tea Infuser.
  2. Pour 16 oz cold filtered water over the leaves.
  3. Refrigerate for 8–12 hours.
  4. Remove leaves and serve over ice.

Cold brewing is especially delicious with:

  • Rooibos blends
  • Hibiscus blends
  • Fruit-forward herbal teas
  • Mint teas

Brewing Black Brewing Tips

Use Fresh Water

Freshly drawn cold water contains more oxygen, helping create a brighter, fuller cup.

Give Leaves Room to Expand

Loose leaf tea needs space. Our Brew-in-Mug Infuser and All-in-One Tea Kettle & Infuser allow leaves to fully unfurl for maximum flavor extraction.

Re-Steep Your Tea

Many premium loose leaf teas can be enjoyed for a second infusion. Simply add fresh water and increase steeping time by 1–2 minutes.

Share the Experience

Tea tastes even better with good conversation. After all:

Your Neighbour Is Only A Teacup Away
