Step 1: Heat Your Water
Different teas prefer different temperatures. Using water that's too hot can make delicate teas bitter, while cooler water may not fully extract flavor.
| Tea Type | Water Temperature | Steep Time |
|---|---|---|
| Black Tea | 200–212°F (93–100°C) | 3–5 minutes |
| Rooibos | 200–212°F (93–100°C) | 4–5 minutes |
| Herbal Blends | 200–212°F (93–100°C) | 5–7 minutes |
| Green Tea | 175–180°F (80–82°C) | 2–3 minutes |

Brewing Black Brewing Tips
Use Fresh Water
Freshly drawn cold water contains more oxygen, helping create a brighter, fuller cup.
Give Leaves Room to Expand
Loose leaf tea needs space. Our Brew-in-Mug Infuser and All-in-One Tea Kettle & Infuser allow leaves to fully unfurl for maximum flavor extraction.
Re-Steep Your Tea
Many premium loose leaf teas can be enjoyed for a second infusion. Simply add fresh water and increase steeping time by 1–2 minutes.
